Big business changes don’t always come from big moves.

In fact, in Big Timer, the winners are often those who make small, well-timed adjustments.

These could be:

  • Streamlining one process to save hours a week
  • Adjusting pricing to reflect value
  • Saying “no” to the wrong opportunities to create space for the right ones

Reflection question: What’s one idea you could apply to your business this week to grow your time, profit or purpose?

Here’s a challenge for you:

Write down three small changes you’ve been thinking about. Pick one. Do it this week. Notice what happens.

Sometimes, one well-placed tweak changes everything.

In our business, the small tweak that we did that helped us immensely was raising our prices. When you raise your prices, you feel better about doing the work and you attract higher quality clients! Early in our business, we raised our prices when peers around us did not.

Another tweak was treating every call with prospects as an “interview”. We were not in the call to close a deal, not until we knew exactly if we wished to accept the prospect as our client.

There were times when we turned prospects down, even if they were willing to pay. Why? Because we know that some prospects become nasty clients if you take them on. Assess this when you speak to them. How do they speak to you? Most condescending prospects turn out to be condescending clients. Stay away from people like that.

Another tweak was to leverage systems and software. We invest a lot of money into subscribing to systems and software that help us run our business. If we didn’t, we would have to hire a lot more people. With systems and software, we free up our time doing what’s truly needed of us.

Want to help others find their own small but mighty tweaks?

In our 2-day Trainer Certification Workshop this November, you’ll learn how to use Big Timer to help participants uncover and apply actionable business ideas.
