We couldn’t be happier on a Monday than to get the news that our podcast story and the journey has been featured in Penang Monthly, an established publication that writes about Penang.
Penang Monthly is no stranger in Penang as it is published by the Penang Institute.
Penang Institute is one of Malaysia’s major think tanks that is funded by the Penang state government and it was originally established in 1997 as SERI or the Socio-economic and Environmental Research Institute. It changed its name to Penang Institute in 2011 to reflect the vibrancy and ambitions of the state as an intellectual hub and as the culture capital of the country, and to enhance Penang’s reputation in ASEAN and beyond.
The Penang Institute encourages bold and innovative thinking – not only in academic disciplines, but also through the support it gives to literature and culture through book launches and public literature seminars; through participation in the annual George Town Literary Festival; through its public policy brief, ISSUES; and through its renowned magazine, Penang Monthly, and the Penang Book Prize.
