Last week, we were invited once again to INTI University to deliver a guest lecture on business and entrepreneurship (previously we spoke to MBA students but this time it was to Business degree students).

Why give a talk when we could engage the students in powerful yet experiential play?

We brought Big Timer, our strategy game designed for entrepreneurs and business owners.

Game-Based Workshop Is The New Way To Educate

Thanks to Dr Jasmine’s invitation, we spoke to a group of enthusiastic Business students. But instead of going the traditional route, we challenged them to play. And through play, we helped them discover the very lessons that every entrepreneur must eventually learn—often the hard way.

The results were more than rewarding.

The students didn’t just participate—they dove in. They were strategic, reflective and most importantly, open to learning through trial and error. Through 2 rounds of play, they surprised themselves and us when some students hit the goals after 20 minutes which was to win 3 money bags and later, 6 money bags.

And during the debrief session, they articulated some of the most powerful insights we’ve heard:

  • Time is the most valuable resource you have.
  • Taking risks is part of building something great.
  • You can’t reach the next level using the same strategy if the stakes have changed.
  • Working on your business is just as vital as working in it.

These aren’t just “game lessons.” These are real-world truths that separate struggling solopreneurs from thriving entrepreneurs.

Why Strategy Alone Isn’t Enough

The Big Timer experience reinforces a core belief we hold: building a business isn’t necessarily difficult—but knowing where to focus and how to strategize at each stage, makes all the difference.

Too often, new entrepreneurs get caught up with the busy-ness of doing, without taking a step back to ask: Is what I’m doing moving me closer to my actual goals?

Our game helps answer that question—and that’s why we bring it into universities and business communities.

The Power of Play in Business Education

It’s always refreshing to engage students who are still forming their views on what entrepreneurship really means. And we’re grateful to INTI University for inviting us back multiple times to share the Big Timer experience.

By blending play with real-world scenarios, we’re helping the next generation of business leaders think differently, act strategically and embrace risk with intention.
