Online Selling Strategies You Should Know

Did you know that pre-ordering is a strategy for online selling?

It means you accept the buyer’s payment first before your product is ready to be shipped. You can accept a deposit or you can take full payment.

This helps you ensure ordered products don’t sit around in your warehouse and you have buyers when your products are ready.

This is one of the many strategies for e-commerce when you embark on selling online.

Other strategies include:

  • Knowing how to use your social media (yes, things like FB and Instagram) to drive people back to your e-commerce website and not the other way around! Lots of people don’t know the difference between a social media platform and their website. You could be wasting a lot of energy and money by getting people off your website!
  • Offering free shipping as this one strategy can influence customers to buy not just one item but a few items once they reach the threshold price you’ve set.
  • Having a clear shipping policy in the form of a policy page or FAQ helps too. First-time buyers need the reassurance that you will be an honest and ethical seller.
  • When selling to millennials, appeal to their sense of purpose. Tell them why you’re selling what you’re selling. They’ll be more interested if you have a story that goes with your products. You’re not selling products online, you’re selling aspiration and hope.

If you are interested in selling online or even if you’re already selling online, join us this Wednesday for Marketing Mojo as we will be discussing online strategies that you absolutely must know.

If you don’t have a strategy or know what you’re doing with e-commerce, it’s going to be as hard as selling offline!

We will outline some key strategies that we’ve implemented ourselves and for our clients that you can use if you’re intending to go the e-commerce route.

Date: 27 March (yes, this Wednesday)
Time: 3pm to 6pm
Venue: China House Cafe, Beach Street, George Town, Penang

One of the interesting features of our event is that we encourage lots of brainstorming and discussions so that you go home with ideas that you can use.

It’s like an intensive marketing class but it’s also a group of like-minded people in business who are helpful and growth-oriented.

Tickets are at RM100 each when you buy online at our website but if you walk in to China House on that day, it’s going to be RM150.

Learning, ideas, refreshments, fun and networking included in the ticket price – that we can promise!

See you this Wednesday!
