This blog post is written by our manager, Eleanor or Elle as she is known to our clients and newsletter readers.
It was a full house at our first Marketing Mojo Meetup for the year (session #17) which was held at our usual venue, Upstairs at The Vic’s at China House Cafe, Beach Street, Penang.
This is also our 5th year running this marketing and networking business event.

Although tickets had sold-out days before the event, we were happy to welcome a couple of walk-in guests – there’s always room for one (or two more).

The first session not only saw many new faces to the group but also the introduction of our new approach to Marketing Mojo.
That’s right, after four years of telling you ‘what’ you should be doing to improve your business, now we are ready to tell you ‘how’ to do it.

The meeting kicked-off with an ice-breaker where each participant had to mingle and find out who were the longest participating Mojoers. (This is how we call people who attend Marketing Mojo Meetup!)
They also had to ask everyone they encountered what they thought their personal strength was. The participant then had to demonstrate the self-confessed strength with his own interpretation.
It certainly resulted in lots of laughs and good-hearted banter, but more importantly, it was a subtle strategy of multi-tasking your senses.

Once we settled down (amidst a generous offering of cakes, coffee and chit-chat) Nic resumed his presentation with the aid of the Marketing Mojo Action Guide (a simplified version of the One Mountain One Dragon philosophy) for participants to fill in with their ideas and plans.
Everyone was then put into little groups for a brainstorming session between the newbies and Mojo veterans (as identified in the ice-breaker).
Throughout the session there were plenty of opportunities to raise questions, discuss and share amongst participants further demonstrating the underlining Marketing Mojo mantra that you don’t have to worry about your competitors if you can successfully market your business.
Join us for the next session of Marketing Mojo on 14 June at China House Cafe if you don’t want to miss the most happening business and marketing networking event in Penang.
