I’ve been invited to share my insights at this coming Thursday’s WebCamp Pg organised by Piktochart at SunTech Penang CyberCity, Bayan Baru.
I’ve chosen to talk about the smarter way to use your website to get leads, clients and profit because the core message is definitely a message more entrepreneurs need to hear.
After 12 years talking about websites and marketing, I am still a big evangelist about this topic! I’ll be sharing some examples and 3 important key points that every website must have.
I’ll also be focusing on how websites are different from Facebook pages (and why you shouldn’t skimp on getting a website). If you read this blog regularly, you know that Facebook pages are great but for a totally different purpose.
In the next blog post, I’ll also show you something else. I’ll show you how I prepare for this speaking engagement.
In the last 10 years or so, I’ve put myself out there in the public limelight. Heck, I’ve spoken at colleges, I’ve spoken at public events, I’ve given speeches, I’ve moderated forums (and one even included Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir!) and more.
Oddly, I didn’t grow up wanting to be a speaker.
And here’s another secret: I was super shy as a child!
So how did I, a super shy gal, end up speaking? That’s another story for another day.
But more than just speaking, I am going to show you how I prepare for a speaking gig. There is no right way or wrong way. Each person’s style is personal. But I noticed that while speaking seems to be big thing, no one (or at least no one I know) dissects the process of preparing for a speech.
Well, I am going to show you step-by-step how. At least you can see how my style is, what I do, how long I take to develop the topic and more. Perhaps it will help you when you’re preparing for a speech next.
Each time someone invites me to speak, I take it seriously.
I always believe that one always has to prepare thoroughly. By doing so, you respect yourself as someone who has tremendous value to add and you respect the audience who has taken time out to hear you speak.
I know some speakers would be super confident and just get up the stage and speak.
I am not that sort. I prepare and rehearse and I take time to let my topic percolate and I spend time working on my slides too. None of those ugly Powerpoint slides please! (The benefits of marrying a guy whose chief passion in life is design with a capital D! We tolerate none of those ugly stuff LOL).
But the key thing is, join me next week 31 March and learn how you can be smarter with your website.
And for these reasons.
Because it’s free (don’t we all love free events?)
Because you’ll get to meet new friends.
Because you want to learn how to whip your website into shape.
Because your business is that important to you.
Whatever your reason, come join me! Get your free tickets here.
