Something About Facebook That You Should Know

Are you using your Facebook Page as your website?

Well, here’s something about Facebook that you should know.

We’ve been saying this for years now and finally even the Facebook VP of Ad Product has come out to say it.

If you are using Facebook to reach out to your prospects for free, those days of free will come to an end.

Because Facebook themselves admit it – your organic posts are reaching fewer and fewer people these days. In 2012, it was 16 out of 100 people. In February this year, according to a Social@Ogilvy analysis of more than 100 brand pages, organic reach hovered at 6 percent.

This means Facebook is NOT showing your posts to everyone who follows you!

And of course, Facebook wants you to advertise.

You know it and I know it because Facebook is a business too. The free ride and free access to Facebook’s users are coming to an end. Read this Forbes article for more details. Or read this Social@Ogilvy white paper.

So What Can You Do?

We’ve always told business owners – own your own online real estate.

Get a website with your own domain name. That’s the only thing you can control.

Use Facebook as a pipeline among the many “pipelines” you should have, to lead people back to your website.

Even the good folks at Social@Ogilvy say this: “Work to drive Facebook and Twitter followers to websites and other platforms where they can be recruited into CRM databases.”

If you’re a legit business and want a quick way to get started with a website, check out one of our products – Redbox Easyweb where we’ve just launched a Lite version at RM 399 per year.

Yes, you read right. Just RM 399 per year for a stylish website system, premium web hosting and a .com domain.
