I got wind of this information from friends and thought it is TOO good not to share.
It is mainly for women in micro businesses who have online businesses with a .com.my domain names (after all it is a Malaysian Communications & Multimedia Commission initiative so my guess is that – they want you to use a .com.my domain name).
So here’s what it is in a nutshell – the Women, Family & Community Development agency of the Malaysian Government is currently running a programme called “Get Malaysian Businesses Online” for 2013.
They want to give 50,000 micro entrepreneurs a RM1,000 grant for their online businesses. They want to encourage you to get your business online, in plainspeak and that RM1,000 grant, should you get it, will help you get a little further along.
You must fulfil a couple of criteria before you can apply for this grant at this website.
The programme ends on 31 December this year or when the RM50 million grants have all been disbursed.
If you cannot read Bahasa Malaysia (as the forms and FAQs are in the national language), call Malaysian Communications & Multimedia Commission at 1800-88-4040 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
