Penang is going a long way in leading green initiatives.
One of the things we like most is that plastic bags are not given out every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday when you go shopping. Imagine how many plastic bags one can prevent getting to landfills.
Anyway, if you are feeling particularly energetic this weekend, why not join the Earth Day 2010 Coastal Clean-up along the beaches of Gurney Drive, Tanjung Bungah and Batu Feringghi?
Nic and I will be up bright and early to join this initiative on 18 April (Sunday). The clean-up should be good exercise for us all and at the end, it’s for a good cause because we’re walking the talk for the environment. It’s organised by the Penang Government with help from MNS and PHT.
