Our Thinking

Change Your Mindset, Win The Game

We developed the Redbox X Factor based on Wing Chun, a Chinese martial art system whereby you don’t need brute force to win. What’s thoroughly unique in this age-old martial art is that it’s a complete and elegant system that shows you step-by-step what you should do.

Since 2008, we’ve seen tremendous results once we applied the Redbox X Factor on our business and clients’ businesses.

What Today’s World Is Really Like

As a business owner, you’re marketing like mad each day. You need to show your prospects what you’re all about.

Reaching them is one matter but it becomes doubly hard when your competitors are relentless and sneaking up on you. So yes, it’s awful.

You’re exhausted, frustrated and worried by so much going on.

Your prospects seem to be weary and wary too. They don’t know who to buy from, if they buy at all. Of course, they are also tired of being marketed at.

How do you get a chance to show your products to your prospects and tell them that yours is the real McCoy?

What used to work doesn’t seem to work any more. Sales pitches, for instance. Usually, people get highly suspicious and skeptical when they perceive someone is trying to sell them things.

People dislike businesses which keep using the same old pushy methods to sell, that is, bombarding them with nonsense, offering no value, selling lousy products or just out to make a quick buck.

Faced with these problems, people become more savvy. They now conduct tons of research before they buy anything. They get recommendations from their friends and family. They listen to opinions they trust.

Who can blame them?

What Are Your Customers Looking For?

People hate being “sold” to. That’s a fact.

What people really want is value. They want to trust businesses they buy from.

Most of all, people want to buy on their own accord. No coercion. No bluffs. No hard sell.

What they want is to be an active contributor where they are actively part of the “buying” experience. They want to be informed openly and they want to go home satisfied they’ve made the right choice. And they also want to be made to feel truly privileged and special.

Are You Part of the New World?

Today’s customers are buying based on trust and value.

When a customer buys from you, she expects your products or services to add genuine value to her life. When she buys from you, she’s really saying – “I trust you.”

You become her choice for value, not someone just out to make a fast buck.

Who Wins in The New World?

You win in this new world if you offer good, honest, value-for-money products and services.

You win if you are always looking to give your best to your customers.

You win if you have a system you can use to guide you in your marketing. And we’ve developed a system you can use to increase the chances of winning at this game of business. A system with sound principles leads you to focus on the real things that matter. It’s your roadmap to success!

How We Developed This System

During his teenage years in Kuching, Sarawak, Nic learnt martial arts specifically Chinese wushu. Wushu students, besides practising during training workouts, usually took part in martial art competitions to see how their abilities stacked up against the opponent’s.

During these competitions, Nic noticed that the inexperienced acted very differently from the experienced wushu exponents.

The inexperienced ones will ask questions like “What move must I make first?” or “How can I take down my opponent?” Impatient exponents will often make the biggest mistake of all – charging at their opponents with brute force and blind fury.

Change your mindset, win the game. Nic (right) gets his championship trophy from Mr Song Thian Ho, Vice-President of the Nanyang Pugilistic Arts & Physical Culture Association, Sarawak in 1991.Business is like full contact sports – among the wushu tournaments Nic took part in.

He realized that martial art and business are similar on many fronts.

In marketing, the inexperienced business person or marketer will ask questions like “What move must I make first?”or “How can I close this deal today?” The inexperienced will always try to close the deal at the first meeting.

When the martial art movie “Ip Man” was released in 2008, he took this idea to a higher level. He researched the principles of Wing Chun, the martial art style featured in the movie. Zooming in on this martial art theory while banking on his wushu background and experience, Nic developed the Redbox X Factor system to approach marketing and business in a whole new way.
